Volunteer with the Grand Canyon Trust and make a difference

Become a part of the growing community of volunteers who are committed to preserving the landscapes and ecosystems of the Colorado Plateau, an area of immense natural beauty and cultural treasures. As a volunteer with the Grand Canyon Trust, you’ll help us achieve our mission: to protect and restore the Colorado Plateau. You’ll learn about important issues facing this unique area, the nation’s largest concentration of national parks and monuments. You will participate in on the ground restoration projects as well as science-based research. Empower yourself to learn, participate, and make a real change.

Hands-on volunteer opportunities for people of diverse backgrounds and abilities

Our volunteers and our projects are as diverse as the landscapes of the Colorado Plateau. We work with people of all ages and backgrounds, from all over the U.S. and the world. We encourage both individuals and groups to participate in our program. Some trips are strenuous and adventurous, like backpacking in the Paria Canyon and removing exotic invasive trees with handsaws. Other trips — to places like Kane Ranch — have a more leisurely itinerary and return to a facility with beds, kitchen, and showers at the days end.

Sometimes our work takes us deep into ponderosa and conifer forests; other projects take us to the vast open spaces that characterize the desert Southwest. The experiences range from removing old barbed wire fences to monitoring remote springs in the Grand Canyon. Chances are we have an opportunity that’s just what you’re looking for.
