Group Volunteer Trip on the South Rim: June 12-13, 2010

Overview

Over the course of this weekend you will be assisting Grand Canyon National Park 's Vegetation Program on the 2009-2010 Visitor Center and Mather Point Revegetation Project. Mather Campground, just minutes from a variety of scenic viewpoints and historical structures, will be your home while you are at the park. We will be restoring native vegetation communities to areas impacted by construction and road realignment. We will work from 8 AM until 4 PM with a one hour break for lunch on the rim. Vegetation Program staff will present an orientation to Grand Canyon National Park 's native vegetation communities and offer a short overview of some of the invasive species that are being managed by park biologists. We look forward to having you at the park to help protect and restore this invaluable resource.
